The inspiration for the artwork came from my wife, who had read the book in her school days, and it had really inspired her to be the strong woman that she is today. We wanted the poster to reflect the sense of freedom and the power of Femininity. This was very different to my artistic style, thus I found it more challenging and exciting. The artwork uses watercolor brushes and pastel shades to evoke the mood of the film. It combines powerful portraits along with handwritten typography. There are also elements that represent each character. And finally the empty pages in the book is a metaphor for ‘Own Your Story’. This was painted digitally on an iPad using Procreate.
